A garrulous group of inner-city Chicago boys - "heatseekers with street smarts", as David Berman put it – Burnout played out ‘n about c. 1990-’94, their music a liminal standoff of classic rock opulence and the urgent then-current waves of indie, grunch etc. Drummer Brendan Murphy later played with Wesley Willis Fiasco, Trailer Hitch, Jesus Lizard, Chestnut Station and The Drag City Supersession.
